Individual and group tailoring of leotards for rhythmic gymnastics

What do you need for gymnastic classes?

Preparation for gymnastic classes is an extremely serious and important matter that primarily affects the comfort of the child during the classes. At the same time, parents face a lot of questions like: what objects are needed for gymnastics? Which gymnastic leotard to choose? How to make the lessons for the child as comfortable as possible?

To begin with, you need to understand which main elements are necessary to practice gymnastics:
1. Uniform.
2. Jump rope.
3. Hula hoop.
4. Ball.
5. Clubbell.
6. Ribbon.

Uniform for gymnastic classes
This is the most important attribute, which should be as comfortable as possible. The best clothes for gymnastic classes are short-sleeved leotards in summertime, and for the winter will do gymnastic leotards with a long sleeve. What is so special about this form? The point is that the leotard for rhythmic gymnastics completely fits the body and does not contain any unnecessary details that can restrict the moves during performance of various exercises, such as arm and leg swings, jumps, a gymnast bridge.

It is better not to choose a gymnast leotard with a skirt because it is more suitable for competitions, but during normal classes will create only discomfort. Experts also recommend buying short pants and put them above a leotard or special tights without the bottom which are dressed under a leotard. This will add even more comfort and also allow the coach to see how the gymnast’s feet muscles work.

If we talk about shoes, the best for practicing gymnastics will do half lightweight gym shoes. They are feet tight and help the gymnast to move freely and comfortably. It is worth buying separate footwear for classes and separate for competitions because during constant training shoes lose theirs initial shape and tear fast.

Jump rope
It should be made of nylon or yard. It can be also with knots from two ends but necessarily without a handle. The standard size of the rope is 3 meters, but to make the classes more comfortable it is necessary to cut it in accordance with the height of the gymnast.

It is recommended that the jumping rope should be kept in the special case so that it does not mix up in the bag and therefore not becoming dirty. It is better to take care of it according to the material: a rope of nylon can be washed either in the machine or manually, but it's not recommended to wash a jump rope made of yarn because it loses its original color.

Hula hoop
Hula hoops for gymnastic classes can be of two types: simple and professional. What is the difference between them? Simple hoops are made of ordinary plastic, which is very soft and can be easily deformed during performance of various exercises, as well as on impact with the floor. Therefore, it is better to prefer professional hula hoops that are hard to deform and even more difficult to break.

The size of the hula hoop ranges from 60 to 90 cm and depends on the age of the gymnast. For example, for girls from 3-6 years usually will do 60 cm hula hoops and 90 cm is normally for 12 years and older depending on the height of the gymnast.

In order to make the hula hoop easier for transportation and also less susceptible to dust, it can be stored in a special case. It is important to know that keeping a hula hoop in a vertical position can lead to deformation, so it is better to put it in the horizontal one.

Ball
A high-quality ball for rhythmic gymnastics is made of rubber. The height of the athlete and the size of her hand determine the size and weight of the ball. It should fit in her hand so that it is comfortable for the girl to hold the ball and perform special gymnastic trick called the "eight".

The quality of the ball directly depends on the material from which it is made. The rubber should be of a high-quality and covered with material which gives the feeling that the ball sticks to a hand. Also, when you throw the ball on the floor it must bounce clearly upward, and not aside. These criteria determine the quality of the ball one should use in gymnastics.

Like other items for gymnastic classes, the ball is recommended keeping in a special case. This will save it from the temperature changes and help prevent blowing off. In case, when the ball becomes dirty it can be simply washed with soapy water and wiped after to make it dry.

Clubbells
Before clubbell used to be made of wood but now the main material is plastic or rubber. For regular classes it is recommended using a rubber clubbell, since the plastic one can easily be broken in case of fall. Exercising with a rubber clubbell gymnasts feel more confident: they are not afraid to throw and catch it, to perform new and more complex elements, and the main thing there is no fear of breaking the clubbell.

The size of the attribute depends on the height of the girl and the length of her hand. Usually the size of the clubbell varies from 36 to 45 cm.

A special case where it is recommended keeping the clubbell will help to protect it from dirt and scratches.

Ribbon
The last item the absence of which makes the gymnastic classes impossible is a ribbon that consists of a stick and the ribbon itself which is fastened with a carabiner. The stick is made of wood or plastic, and the ribbon is made of satin or similar material. The size of the stick depends on the length of the ribbon.

To store and transport the ribbon you should use a special drum to twist it, and a cover will do for the stick. When the ribbon becomes dirty it can be washed manually and after washing in order to prevent the ribbon from losing its initial shape, it should be starched up or it is better to use a special detergent. Finally, the ribbon should be cleaned and treated with antistatic, so that during the performance it will not stick to the rug and gymnastic costume.

Here are the basic items that you will need for gymnastic classes. If they are chosen thoroughly the gymnast will feel herself as comfortable as possible during the training.
